What is Bowen Technique?

Bowen Technique is a gentle, effective therapy that allows the body to reset and heal itself. This innovative holistic bodywork was developed by Tom Bowen in Australia in the mid-1950s. It is now practiced in 31 countries and taught in over 20.

A treatment consists of precise moves on the body through light clothing. These moves over muscles and tendons stimulate energy flow and balance the nervous system, triggering the body’s healing response.

A treatment usually lasts for an hour and results in a deep sense of relaxation, encouraging the body to recharge and balance itself. Most Bowen clients find that a small number of treatments are sufficient for even long standing conditions.

Bowen Technique is suitable for all ages and can be used where other therapies might be considered unsafe, such as during pregnancy, after an injury, or after a recent operation. Bowen Technique produces an integrated body response balancing on physical, mental and emotional levels.

Bowen Technique is holistic and results are often remarkable:

  • Improves circulation
  • Improves lymphatic drainage
  • Improves assimilation of nutrients
  • Helps eliminate toxins
  • Results in a deep sense of relaxation

What people say about Bowen Technique:

Mrs J, 50, came with constant dull headaches and stiff neck and shoulders. She felt considerable relief after her first treatment, and completely symptom-free after her second.

Mr K, a young musician, came with elbow, shoulder and finger joint pain, as  a result of long hours of practice. He had considerable lessening of pain after one treatment and achieved a corresponding improvement in posture after the second.

Mr R had suffered with asthma since the age of thirteen, and had a severe car accident seven years previously, resulting in chronic lower back pain. After several treatments, Mr R has not used an asthma inhaler for a year, is free of back spasms, and is now able to resume dancing!

A few of the wide range of conditions that have responded well are:

Sports injuries; stress and tension; back pain and sciatica; RSI and tennis elbow; Carpel Tunnel Syndrome; frozen shoulder, knee and ankle problems; respiratory disorders; menstrual irregularities; migraines and headaches; acute & chronic fatigue; ME; muscular skeletal pain; digestive problems.
